Yesterday I went to campus to help pass out flyers, meet students, and give free spiritual readings. Now, you may be wondering, “What is a spiritual reading…?” Essentially, a spiritual reading is just hearing from God and telling people what He thinks about them. In the Bible it is called prophecy, but on a college campus, calling is a spiritual reading peaks a lot more interest. People are hungry for the supernatural. Sometimes, people ask us who are “medium” is. We tell them that it is Jesus, because it is. In return, you can see how people get a bit skeptical at the name of Jesus, but once they hear what He has to say about them many of their faces change into smiles. It is fun to partner with God and love people.

Anyway, back to my story… I was tired yesterday and really didn’t want to be on campus. I didn’t feel super spiritual and felt sort of strange. In the midst of my funkiness, the Holy Spirit reminded me that in my weakness God is strong. With that in mind, I set out to just enjoy myself and trust God to be God. After handing out flyers, I decided to rest in the tent for a bit and rehydrate. Right then, however, someone came into the tent to find out more about what a spiritual reading is. I felt ill-prepared, but remembered the promise of God and simply asked God what He had to say about the person. On a typical day, I hear things about who the person is// how God sees them. This time, however, I heard things about the person. Trusting in the goodness of God, I stepped out in faith and shared what I was hearing. God was showing the person that He knew them, and they were touched. Their initial skepticism about hearing from God shifted. This happened a few more times throughout the day. God told me someones birth order, how many sisters someone had, and what degree someone was in. It was wild. I am not sure who was more shocked, me or the person I was praying for. I was amazed by the goodness of God and beyond thankful that I can truly rest in His goodness. In my weakness, He really is strong.

God is always speaking. He has the nicest things to say to you, and others. Sometimes it just takes stepping out in faith and speaking what you are hearing.
